Every year my sister does a ‘reverse advent calendar’ and places an item a day into a box for the local homeless shelter to drop off before Christmas.
This year the whole family got involved and I asked my local village if they had any donations they could contribute.
I was overwhelmed by the response…clothes, food, toiletries and children’s toys arrived in abundance!
This evening we made the delivery and it was a wonderful and emotional experience for us all…especially when the staff member told us that many of their residents have their children with them today visiting for Christmas and now they will be able to give them toys.
You never know how far a simple act of kindness can reach. You have the power to change the world for the better. It doesn’t take much, you don’t need to spend any money. You can donate an unused jumper, you can smile at a friend, you can go and introduce yourself to a new neighbour.
Kindness is within us all and it’s time we started sharing it around like glitter 💖💜💖
Please note that there is a massive shortage of sanitary products for women living in poverty. If you can please donate some to your local homeless shelter or food bank. No woman should have to live without basic sanitary care.xxx
A huge thanks to everyone who donated.xxx
